FIELD: electric power industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electric power engineering and can be used on overhead power transmission lines for damping and detuning of wire oscillations. Wire vibration damper comprises metal frame 1 with cups 2, made in the form of two symmetrical half-moulds, and metal tie-rod 3. Clamp 4 accommodating wire 5 is formed on the outer end of the tie-rod. Inner end of the rod has the shape of disk 6 with a central hole and projections 7 on one side of the disk and opposite projections on the other side of the disk. Inner end of tie-rod rests on inner surface of each cup of frame through two elastomer elements 8 located in cups symmetrically relative to disc. Toothed projections of elastomeric elements are located between projections 7 on each side of the disc and mating projections on inner surfaces of cups 2. Frame half-mould cups, elastomer elements and disc are located on common axis. Elastomeric elements have 6 toothed projections, and disc has 3 projections on each side.

EFFECT: reduced amplitude of vibrations of wires.
