SUBSTANCE: iron (10) comprising plate assembly (12) and housing (14) comprising lower part (16), upper part (18) and connecting rear part (17) between said lower and upper parts (16, 18), wherein said upper part (18) functions as a handle and is made along longitudinal axis (X) inclined upwards at an angle of inclination (α) relative to bearing surface (21) in direction to free end of front part (11A) of iron (10), and comprises gripping part (19) of elongated shape passing along said longitudinal axis (X), and end part (20) located in accordance with the free end of said gripping part (19). Iron (10) has centre of gravity (G) located in said gripping part (19) along its middle plane in accordance with central zone (34) along said longitudinal axis (X).

EFFECT: creation of an iron having an ergonomic shape, that is, easy to use, preventing or at least limiting the occurrence of stress and strain on the hand, wrist and hand of the user.
