SUBSTANCE: iron includes a base, a soleplate with tapered end sections (the front one and the rear one), a thermally insulating plate, a handle and a support maintaining the iron main body in a standing position. The support has the first and second support sections 14a and 14b positioned on the both sides of the rear end section 6b, projecting rearwards from the main body 1, and a third support section 11a, positioned on the rear section of the handle gripping part 11. Between the first and the second support sections 14a and 14b there is a space enabling viewing through the rear end section 6b of the soleplate 6. The first and the second support sections are designed at the both ends of the support forming the body that is essentially U-shaped along the outer side surface of the thermally insulating plate.

EFFECT: increased usefulness of motion backwards in the direction of the soleplate 6 rear end section 6b.
