FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing hydrogen and technical carbon from gaseous hydrocarbons, wherein high-temperature pyrolysis of gaseous hydrocarbons is carried out by heating said hydrocarbons with arc discharge plasma. Method is characterized by the fact that the heated in the plasmatron part of the total consumption of gaseous hydrocarbons and the rest of the total consumption of gaseous hydrocarbons is supplied simultaneously coaxially for mixing into the reactor through the reactor inlet located in the reactor cover installed on the reactor upper part, gaseous products of hydrocarbon decomposition are fed for separation of carbon from hydrogen via reactor outlet arranged in reactor cover and separated inside the reactor from the inlet so that gaseous hydrocarbons stay in the reactor for their decomposition into hydrogen and carbon. Invention also relates to an apparatus and a reactor.
EFFECT: maximum degree of decomposition of hydrocarbons into hydrogen and carbon while reducing power consumption.
