FIELD: microwave equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to microwave engineering, including terahertz and optical wavelength ranges. Method of forming a mirror photon jet includes irradiating with electromagnetic radiation a dielectric particle forming a photon jet and made with a truncated surface shape, for example, cuboid, or truncated sphere, or disc, with a characteristic size comparable to the wavelength of the incident radiation, placing on a flat base a dielectric particle on the side opposite to the irradiation with electromagnetic radiation of the screen reflecting the incident radiation, wherein in the reflecting screen a cavity or an opening is made directly under the base of the dielectric particle located at the centre of the optical axis of the dielectric particle, and with a characteristic size not exceeding the base of the dielectric particle, and the thickness of the reflecting screen is chosen to be greater than the thickness of the skin layer.
EFFECT: possibility of controlling the position and shape of the mirror photon jet.
