FIELD: water treatment.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to water treatment and can be used for cleaning borehole water for various needs. Filter material includes an inert base of granular material, particles of which are coated in form of a two-layer active catalytic shell, wherein its inner layer is made of a material based on a trivalent iron salt with addition of magnesium oxide, alkaline binder and copper, and its outer layer is made in form of a powder coating of a dry active component. Inert base material can be crushed exclay sand or F-Ag (filter unit). Active powder component used for sputtering is magnesium oxide or a mixture of magnesium oxide and pyrolusite (manganese dioxide), and alkaline binder in the coating material used is sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide. Also disclosed is a method of producing a filter material by applying a two-layer catalytically active shell on an inert base of granular material.
EFFECT: group of inventions ensures an increase in the service life of the filter material (filtering charge) while simultaneously ensuring a high degree of water purification.
