FIELD: wireless communication.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication, particularly to methods of configuring and transmitting sounding reference signals (SRS) with frequency hopping (FH) in a wireless communication system. Base station (BS) sends FH configuration to UE for SRS transmission. Each FH configuration comprises configuration parameters including the number of frequency hopping in each FH layer, and the subchannel SRS width for the top FH layer. SRS subchannel is a portion of a frequency band probed by the SRS in one frequency hop. For each FH configuration transmitted from the base station, the UE calculates the remaining FH levels subchannel SRS width, wherein calculation of width of SRS subchannel for remaining FH levels is performed based on configuration parameters of this FH configuration.

EFFECT: providing more flexible configuration of user equipment (UE) for SRS transmission with FH, with possibility of dynamic reconfiguration depending on the required band.
