FIELD: medical science.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to anaesthesiology and resuscitation, and can be used for assessing the volemic status of critical patients on continuous positive pressure artificial pulmonary ventilation (APV). A Doppler examination is performed in a subcostal four-chamber position with a transthoracic ultrasonic sensor, and an average transtricuspid pressure gradient is determined. If gradient is 2-4 mmHg, normovolemia is stated, less than 2 mmHg shows hypovolemia, and more than 4 mmHg shows hypervolemia.
EFFECT: method enables the safe and non-invasive assessment of the volemic status accompanying a constant positive airway pressure ensured by measuring an average transtricuspid pressure gradient.
