FIELD: measuring.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of measurement equipment of ultrahigh frequencies, namely to the field of vector circuit analysers (VCA). Method consists in that automatic adjustment is carried out in "rough" and "fine" modes, in the first of which measurement results are used in frequency scanning mode of the measuring receiver to determine the position of the maximum of the amplitude of the measured signal. In the process of "accurate" frequency tuning, a linear approximating dependence of the measured phase values of the signal received by the VCA measuring receiver is formed on time, deployed beyond ±180 degrees, and according to the inclination angle of the obtained linear approximating dependence of the unfolded phase on time, the required value of the correction of the frequency of the receiver of the VCA and/or the heterodyne generator of the reference mixer is determined as the ratio of the inclination angle of the linear approximating dependence of the unfolded phase of the signal of the measuring receiver on time to the scanning time.
EFFECT: high accuracy during automatic frequency tuning of the measuring receiver of the VCA and/or the heterodyne signal generator of the reference mixer.
