FIELD: measuring.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analysis of materials. Gamma flaw detector of the gate type contains a radiation head equipped with a hingedly integrated carrying handle, a button switch for connecting laser emitters, a remote drive with a portable battery, a system of laser emitters, a rectangular-rotary diaphragm and a manual control ramp of the device in a coordinate system. Radiation head of the gamma-ray flaw detector in a housing rigidly attached to the cage, the reinforced diaphragm, the system of laser emitters and the push-button switch, comprises a composite biological protection unit in the form of a pseudo-ellipsoid with a fragmentary perforated cavity with an obturator, structurally aggregated by a discrete-rotary insert with a case of a radionuclide emitter, a gate mechanism of a discrete-rotary insert in the form of a discrete-rotary link articulated with a mechanical drive for emitting (overlapping) the radiation beam, and a locking mechanism.
EFFECT: high stability and precision orientation of a working beam of gamma-radiation relative the "zone of interest" of the inspected object.
