FIELD: measuring.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for determining physical and mechanical properties of metals, in particular to devices for measuring hardness using a sclerometry method in space. Device comprises movable and fixed bases, loading mechanism and measuring transducer in the form of indenter, besides, loading mechanism is made of material with shape memory. Loading mechanism is installed on a fixed base and contains two power elements, one of which is programmed for linear deformation, and the other for torsional deformation, wherein they are both connected to an indenter, which is installed with the possibility of measuring hardness of the material of the analysed sample by sclerometry. Movable base is intended for fixation of analysed sample, wherein the part of the mechanism, where the power elements are located, is covered with a heat-insulating material to prevent the effect of space factors on the shape memory material, and device itself is made with possibility of connection to support systems of spacecraft, with possibility of alternate supply of voltage to power elements.
EFFECT: high quality of research on change in mechanical properties of material in time in space.
