FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a vertically disposed crystallizer comprising at least one upward directed fluid section for cooling an upwardly directed fluid composition, physically separated from at least one downward directed fluid section for conveying a crystalline suspension of crystallized solid substances from the composition in a downward direction. Crystallizer further includes at least one composition inlet for introducing a composition comprising at least a liquid and solid substances dissolved in the liquid; at least one cooling inlet hole for cooling liquid supply; lower part. Fluid section directed downwards and fluid section directed upwards are connected as to fluid medium, thus forming at least one outlet hole. Crystallizer comprises top part. Fluid section directed upwards and fluid section directed downwards are connected as to fluid medium, thus forming at least one outlet hole for discharge of cooling liquid in gaseous state. At least one compound inlet and at least one cooling inlet are configured to allow an upward parallel flow of cooling liquid and compound in at least one upward directed fluid section. At least one outlet is located at the lowest point of the lower part and configured to collect the crystalline suspension deposited at said lowest point by gravity.

EFFECT: invention provides reduction of crystallisation time with improvement of productivity and/or efficiency of the process.
