FIELD: performing operations.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of hardening carbon fibre-reinforced polymer composite materials based on epoxy binder. Method includes operations of fibrous filler impregnation with epoxy binder, shaping and hardening of workpiece. After final curing, additional exposure to microwave electromagnetic field with frequency of 433-2450 MHz is performed depending on thickness of article, in the process of which the radiating antenna is scanned over the surface of the article, providing uniform coverage of the irradiation spot of all required areas. At that, performing the article relative rotation in the horn aperture plane so that all the reinforcing fibres layers regardless of their orientation periodically become parallel to the electromagnetic field E-wave vector, and the process is completed when the surface integral temperature is equal to (60-80) °C. In the case of unidirectional carbon fibre processing, rotation is limited by turning the article to the position of the fibres parallel to the E-wave vector.
EFFECT: formation of a reinforced frame of the whole article due to elimination of non-uniformity of microwave action along the thickness of the article, which is caused by different degree of radiation energy absorption by carbon fibres, and provision of additional cross-linking of the structure.
