SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to pharmaceutics, namely to a method of treating or preventing manifestation of fear of public speaking or a symptom thereof in a subject in need thereof, to use (R)-3-(6-p-tolyl-pyridin-3-yloxy)-1-aza-bicyclo[2.2.2]octane or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof in the treatment or prevention of public speaking anxiety or symptom thereof in a subject, as well as to the use of said compound or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof for the manufacture of a medicament for treating or preventing manifestation of fear of public speaking or a symptom thereof. Method of treating or preventing manifestation of fear of public speaking or its symptom in a subject in need thereof, wherein the method involves administering to a subject a compound which is (R)-3-(6-p-tolyl-pyridin-3-yloxy)-1-aza-bicyclo[2.2.2]octane or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof in a dose effective for treatment or prevention of manifestation of fear of public speaking or its symptom. Use of said compound in treating or preventing manifestation of fear of public speaking or a symptom thereof in a subject, wherein such use involves administering the compound to the subject in dose of 10 mg. Use of said compound for producing a medicament for treating or preventing manifestation of fear of public speaking or a symptom thereof.
EFFECT: said group of inventions enables to obtain and use an agent for treating fear of public speaking, having an improved profile of safety and efficacy.
