SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industry, namely to a lip balm which absorbs ultraviolet radiation. Lip balm, which absorbs ultraviolet radiation, is based on an aqueous-alcoholic extract of Viburnum opulus L. berries, containing a fatty base, which contains components in the following ratio: triglycerides – 46.73 wt.%; Vaseline – 14.95 wt.%; glycerine – 5.61 wt.%; glycerol monostearate – 18.69 wt.%; sodium bis-2 ethylhexyl-sulphosuccinate (AOT) – 4.67 wt.%; water-alcohol extract of Viburnum opulus L. berries – 9.35 wt.%, capable of intensely absorbing ultraviolet radiation. Method of producing lip balm, which absorbs ultraviolet radiation, based on extract of Viburnum opulus L. berries. in which a surfactant, namely AOT (sodium bis-2 ethylhexyl-sulphosuccinate), is dissolved in triglycerides with intense stirring, heating to temperature of 30-40 °C; then into a reactor with a mixer at room temperature are loaded ingredients: Vaseline, glycerol monostearate, glycerine; mixture is homogenised for 20-30 minutes at temperature of 75 °C; water-alcohol extract of Viburnum opulus L. berries is added to the obtained mixture while stirring, all components of the agent are mixed for 10 minutes; then the balm is packed into a container, and upon cooling, the final structure of the balm is formed.

EFFECT: balm described above forms a protective barrier for passage of ultraviolet solar radiation through skin, is stable.
