SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of railway automation for remote monitoring and informing the drivers of the state of railway crossings. System includes an onboard part and video cameras installed at the crossing, a radio signal reception and transmission device and a means of determining the crossing occupancy, intended for the formation of a signal about the presence of an object on the crossing in the event that this object meets the predetermined parameters in shape and size. Moreover the onboard part includes locating on the locomotive a device for receiving and transmitting a radio signal, a control controller, a driver's monitor, a storage device, alarm indicators, means for calculating brake curves, locomotive speed determination means, current coordinate, date and time, storage module for locomotive and train characteristics, block of the electronic route map, signal conditioning device "alarm" and video frame formation.

EFFECT: increase in the reliability of recognition of the employment of the railway crossing is achieved.
