FIELD: measuring.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to experimental investigation of resistance to movement of ship in ice, caused by friction of ice floes on ship hull. Bench for investigating the effect of the gap between the ice and the ship hull on its resistance to movement comprises a frame on which a shallow pool is located, over which rails are installed, on which the towing trolley can move above the ice track, frozen in a natural way or laid out of artificial ice, and the towing trolley is equipped with a mechanism for vertical movement of the investigated ship model. Vertical displacement mechanism moving part is connected with ship dummy via two-component dynamometer to measure vertical and horizontal forces. Two-component dynamometer is rigidly connected to the vertical displacement mechanism by a bar, and the dynamometer measuring horizontal force is connected to the analysed model by a pylon.
EFFECT: expansion of the experimental capabilities of the bench for investigation the friction resistance of ice on the ship's hull.
