FIELD: smoking accessories.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a smoking article and a method for reducing excessive heating in it. Smoking article comprises an outer wrapper surrounding at least a portion of the smoking article, a tobacco material, filter located downstream of the tobacco material and near the mouth end of the smoking article, and an energy absorber arranged so that at least a portion of the energy absorber is mixed with the tobacco material, or such that the energy absorber is completely mixed with the tobacco material. Energy absorber is a thermal energy absorber designed to increase uniform distribution of heated air over the tobacco material.

EFFECT: control of distribution of heated air in tobacco material is provided, degree of overheating or pyrolysis in smoking products is reduced and thus negative effects associated with overheating of tobacco materials in smoking products are reduced.
