FIELD: gastroenterology; radiation diagnostics.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to diagnose a slowdown in the rate of evacuation of gastric contents in patients with postprandial distress syndrome. The residual volume of liquid in the stomach is determined 15 minutes after drinking 1000 ml of still drinking water at room temperature in the morning on an empty stomach using magnetic resonance imaging. If more than 200 ml of liquid remains in the stomach at 15 minutes of the test, delayed gastric evacuation is diagnosed.
EFFECT: method allows for accurate diagnosis of delayed gastric evacuation using a non-invasive study that does not require ingestion of a contrast agent or isotope-labelled food, in the absence of radiation exposure to the patient due to the combination of techniques of the claimed invention.
