FIELD: medical science.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to neonatology, and can be used for assessing a severity of a newborn with organ dysfunction. Central nervous system, respiratory system, body temperature are assessed, an additional oxygen fraction is assessed, haemodynamic stability is assessed, capillary blood base (BE) and lactate deficiency levels are determined. Derived values are scored from 0 to 2. If the score is from 1 to 2, the newborn's state is assessed as moderate, if the score is from 3 to 7, the newborn's condition is severe, if total score is from 8 to 14, the newborn’s state is considered to be extremely severe with multiple organ failure syndrome.
EFFECT: method enables the objective assessment of the severity of the condition and the organ dysfunction in the newborns and the well-timed preventive measures that enables improving the health indicators and quality of life in such children by assessing a set of the most significant indicators.
