FIELD: measuring.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for measurement and mapping of inhomogeneous alternating magnetic fields. By means of the gradient magnetoelectric sensor, the inhomogeneous alternating magnetic field is measured at each point of the investigated space for one minute, by moving the magnetoelectric sensor along the horizontal and vertical axes, wherein after the end of all measurements, the signal from the gradient magnetoelectric sensor is calculated as the root-mean-square value of all data received within one minute, in the end, the signal magnitude dependence from the gradient magnetoelectric sensor is plotted depending on its coordinates in the investigated space, wherein the gradient magnetoelectric sensor used is a magnetoelectric structure “titanium/bi-domain lithium niobate crystal Y+128° section/titanium/nickel/metglas 2826MV”, where titanium acted as metal electrodes, bi-domain lithium niobate crystal Y+128° section – of the piezoelectric layer, nickel – of the magnetizing layer, and 2826MV metglax – of the magnetostrictive layer.
EFFECT: improved sensitivity to an inhomogeneous alternating magnetic field.
