FIELD: high-voltage pulse technique. SUBSTANCE: current-pulse generator has series- connected power supply, current interrupter, and inductive storage capacitor, and load connected either directly or through discharger to inductive storage capacitor output; in addition, it is provided with second interrupter and inductive storage capacitor is made in the form of stepped shaping line with distributed parameters built up of n series-connected sections of homogeneous line of equal electric length, ratio of wave impedance ρi of i-th section to wave impedance ρ1 of first section being ρi/ρ1=i(i+1)/2,, where i = 1,2,3...n is sequence number of line section; second interrupter is connected in parallel with inductive storage capacitor output. Connected to output of inductive storage capacitor is single short-circuited homogeneous line whose electric length equals that of stepped line and whose wave impedance is ρo=ρ1(n+1)/2..
