SUBSTANCE: generator has stepped shaping line with distributed parameters formed by at least two series-connected sections of homogeneous lines of equal electric length with ratio of wave impedances of second to first sections ρ2/ρ1, commutating discharger in input high-voltage gap of first section, and load connected to generator output; novelty is that n additional line sections of same electric length are connected to second section output; ratio of wave impedance of i-th additional section ρad.i impedance ρ1 is ρ i/ρ1=(i+2)(i+3)/2,, where i = 1,2,3...n is additional section number; load is connected through commutator to output gap of the last additional section. EFFECT: improved amplitude of square voltage pulse shaped across load.
