FIELD: pulse technique. SUBSTANCE: generator has double shaping line with distributed parameters built up of commutated stepped shaping line with discharger in input high-voltage gap, noncommutated line, and load, all connected in series. Novelty is that stepped line is formed by n series-connected sections of homogeneous lines of equal electric length same as that of noncommutated line; ratio of wave impedance of i-th section ρi/ρ1=2/[i(i+1)] to that of first section ρi is ρ1, where i = 1,2,3...n is sequence number of section; wave impedance of noncommutated line is chosen from equation 2ρi/(n+1).. Load is connected to noncommutated line through discharger. EFFECT: improved amplitude of square voltage pulse shaped across load.
