FIELD: electron-beam treatment of materials, such as welding, melting, zonal cleaning, soldering, and other operations using accelerated electrons energy for heating. SUBSTANCE: heater is essentially diode whose thermocathode is ring 1 made of material possessing high coefficient of thermoelectronic emission. Anode is object 2 to be heated. Cathode is surrounded by focusing electrode divided into sections 3 in radial section. Sections are isolated by insulator 4. Voltage is applied to anode from source 5. Cathode is heated by source 6 whose transformer center tap is electrically connected to negative pole of source 5 and to ground. Provision is made for obtaining any preset distribution of electron flow on surface of heated object 2. EFFECT: provision for equalizing specific power and temperature in heating zone which improves quality of treatment and enlarges functional capabilities of circular electronic heater. 1 dwg
