FIELD: organic chemistry, amines. SUBSTANCE: the novel adamantane-monomer is synthesized from 1-carboxy-3-carboxymethyladamantane dichloroanhydride and NH3 in benzene medium. Then thionyl chloride is added to diamide and boiled in benzene for 8 h. Then product is poured into water, extracted with benzene, extract is evaporated, and prepared dinitrile is reduced over Ni-Raney in ethanol medium in the presence of NH3.. The yield of product is 46.4% b. p. is 151-152 C at 4 mm mercury column. Use of product for copolyimide preparing provides increased water resistance at 220 C in water (42 h as compared with 35 and 18 h for known ones). EFFECT: enhanced quality of product. 1 tbl
