FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method involves heating starting welded annular billets to one-phase γ-band temperature; cooling in furnace to temperature 40-100 C below temperature, at which complete solution of g′-phase occurs; holding for 0.5-2 hours; slightly cooling in air for 71-130 C and unrolling in conditions approximating isothermal conditions; repeatedly heating billets to one-phase γ-band temperature and cooling in furnace to two-phase (γ+γ′)-band temperature of 1050-1080 C; holding for 0.5-2.0 hours; cooling in air to 950-980 C and effectuating final unrolling. Specific elongation value at 1000 C is within the range of 101-104%. EFFECT: increased process plasticity of billet material. 1 tbl
