FIELD: natural gas industry. SUBSTANCE: method involves separating permeable layers in collection bed section; isolating permeable layers partially or completely one from the other by low-permeable or impermeable layers; effectuating pumping down of gas into permeable layers and withdrawal of gas from them. Pumping of gas is initiated from underlayer. When pressure in gas zone of this underlayer reaches value equal to pressure in upper layer gas is pumped into this upper layer. When pumping of gas is stopped, withdrawal of gas is initiated from upper layer. Upon withdrawal of 20-40% of gas pumped for storage, underlayer is proceeded with subsequent simultaneous withdrawal of gas from upper layer and underlayer.
