FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: noise signal with noise temperature T is applied to input of amplifier 1 from reference generator 2; the temperature is higher or lower than environment temperature is. Power level of output noise signal is indicated of amplifier 1 by means of measuring receiver 4. Then the noise signal with noise temperature T is applied to input of amplifier 1. Then the relations of power levels are measured of output noise signals of amplifier 1 and attenuation α introduced is measured of intermediate path 3 from output of reference generator 2 to input of amplifier 1.
