FIELD: microwave amplifiers. SUBSTANCE: noise signal power level is measured across output of reference amplifier matched in respect to input and certified in respect to equivalent noise temperature in predetermined pass-band, noise signal picked off output of amplifier under check matched in respect to input is applied to input of mentioned reference amplifier, and noise signal power level is measured in mentioned pass-band across reference amplifier output; noise signal power level is also measured in mentioned pass-band across output of matched load at ambient temperature. Then level difference ratio is measured and noise temperature is determined for amplifier under check using equation to be found in description of invention. EFFECT: enlarged functional systematic measurement error of power level which makes it possible to implement method dispensing with precision power meter. 1 dwg
