FIELD: SHF equipment. SUBSTANCE: power limiter has section 1 of regular rectangular waveguide, ferrite plates 2 and magnetic system 3. SHF signal of sow power hits input of section 1 and is transmitted to its output with insufficient attenuation. Mutual compensation of waves reflected from both butts of each plate 2 occurs in this case. When power of SHF signal exceeds threshold power then level of input average power absorbed by plates 2 smooths from one plate 2 to another plate 2 though it remains nonuniform. Thinner plates 2 arranged at input absorb bigger power than thicker plates 2 put at output. This ensures uniformity of distribution of thermal elastic stresses over length of insert formed by plates 2 of different thickness. As a result of it input average power increases, dynamic range of limiting and service life of limiter are extended. EFFECT: increased input average power, dynamic range and service life of limiter. 1 dwg
