FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: after smelt is heated by 180 - 200 C over pig-iron liquidus temperature, they add a heat with alloying members and then with low-carbon steel scrap amount of 200 - 700 % of pig-iron mass. Heat finish is carried out under temperature of 1580 - 1620 C. Forged metal, produced by the method, has layers and patterns similar to patterns of damask steel.
