FIELD: development of oil deposits. SUBSTANCE: method for development of massive gas-cap oil pools includes formation in the gas-oil contact of fringe of gas enriched with liquid components withdrawn from oil and/or vapors of low-boiling components. Fringe is formed by injection of gas in course of a definite period of time to oil part under the surface of gas-oil contact with the pressure exceeding that in gas cap. After formation of fringe, gas is injected into the gas cap with the pressure ensuring mixing drive of oil by formed fringe of enriched gas. EFFECT: higher oil recovery due to improved conditions of vertical displacement of oil.
