FIELD: production of diamond monocrystals. SUBSTANCE: method for synthesis of diamond single crystals on seeds includes layer placement of carbon source, metal catalyst and diamond seed crystals. Additionally arranged in zone of seed crystals are crystals absorbing impurities. Absorbing crystals are heated, at high pressure, 5 to 15 c below the heating temperature of seed crystals. Said temperature difference is ensured by arranging the seed crystals with their seeding face closer to carbon source by 0.5-5 mm to seeding faces of absorbing crystals, or by positioning absorbing crystals on heat runoff reducing its temperature by said difference with the aid of active heat removal. In so doing, seed crystals and absorbing crystals are provided with individual growing cells communicating with one another. Absence of precipitated microimpurities on the boundary of grown crystal and seed improves quality of crystals and increases their yield. EFFECT: reduced amount of microimpurities on the diamond seed crystals-grown diamond boundary. 3 cl, 3 dwg
