FIELD: radio navigation. SUBSTANCE: method provides, that during aircraft flying at constant flight level in direction to radio beacon received radio beacon signal minimum amplitudes are fixed in time sequence, then they measure inclined distances from radio beacon to crossing points of axes of the minimums with radial to radio beacon direction of horizontal flight and obtained values of distances are compared with known distances of minimums of strength of electromagnetic field of emission of served radio beacon at the flight level and according to coincidence they determine identity of signals of serving radio beacon. Apparatus, that realizes the method, has antenna and feeding unit 1, transmitter 2, azimuth and distance measuring unit 3, channels switching unit 4, receiver 5, input circuits unit 6, azimuth mixer 7, azimuth intermediate frequency amplifier 8, azimuth pulse former 9, distances mixer 10, amplifier 11, distance intermediate frequency decoder 12, heterodyne oscillator 13, analog-digital converter 14, filtration unit 15, maximum calculator 16, codes comparing units 17 and 22, delay unit 18, minimum calculator 19, distance codes first register 20, divider 21, NO gate 23, synchronizer 24, counter 25, storage unit 26 and register 27.
