FIELD: nondestructive testing. SUBSTANCE: tested sample is exposed to beam of directed neutrons having monoenergetic spectrum in epithermal energy range. Neutrons scattered in sample are registered with the use of analyzer. Analyzer presents resonance detector and collimator manufactured from thin layers of one and the same substance. Analyzer registers only neutrons scattered on certain nuclei at angle preassigned with collimator and lost as a result of scattering energy ΔE=Eo-Ep< where Eo is energy of neutrons of source and Ep is resonance energy of detector. Depth concentration profile is estimated by distribution of activity of resonance detector along direction which is projection on to plane of detector of direction of neutrons of source. EFFECT: increased depth of analyzed region for determination of concentration profile over depth of sample. 2 dwg
