FIELD: applied nuclear physics. SUBSTANCE: absorber has rectangular strips disposed in one plane and coupled with each other. At least one of the contacting surfaces of the strips have radioactive atoms embedded. The strips are cut-out from a monolithic plate with atoms embedded, are rotated by 90 degrees about cutting line and coupled together. EFFECT: improved absorption. 5 dwg
