FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: the copolymer is a new polymer obtained chemically. The copolymer has an intrinsic viscosity in acetone of 0.45-1.54 dl/g at 20 C and comprises in its structure (mole %): 76.4-85.8 vinyl acetate; 12.2-21.6 butyl acrylate; and 0.8-4.3 MTP. This copolymer is prepared by using an aqueous emulsion. The surfactant includes sodium salts of sulfated alkylphenol esters. The surfactant is present in an amount of 0.8-6.3 % by weight of the sum of comonomers. The process comprises six administrations of a water soluble initiator in equal portions after 27-48 min. The comonomeric mixture has the following composition (mole %): 80.4-90.3 vinyl acetate; 7.7-17.6 butyl acrylate; and 0.8-4.3 MPT. The total feed rate of the monomeric mixture is 25-45% per 1 hour. The process allows preparing a polymer having good rheological properties which makes it possible to form a film therefrom. The copolymer withstands adequate static loads and cannot be forced out of the standard vibration-absorbing sandwich-type structure. The vibroabsorbing polymeric material has a good modulus of elasticity. EFFECT: improved properties of the copolymer. 14 ex, 2 tbl
