FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method includes feeding of metal to a crystallizer, withdrawing ingot from the crystallizer with alternative rate, control of metal flow rate in flowing metal to crystallizer and rate of withdrawing of the ingot, measuring level of metal in the crystallizer, and cooling of ingot in zone of the secondary cooling with coolant sprayed by nozzles. In continuous casting when level of metal within the crystallizer deflects from a working value by ÷ 0.02- 0.05 of minimum thickness of the ingot the flow rate of metal is changed by + 4-20% of working value and rate of withdrawing of the ingot is changed by + 5-10% of the working value simultaneously. The casting with these parameters is conducted up to a moment when the level of metal in the crystallizer achieves the working value. EFFECT: enhanced quality of ingots.
