FIELD: atomic engineering. SUBSTANCE: the reactor active zone is chilled during introduction of safety rods into the active zone to a depth sufficient for compensation of the total power effect of reactor reactivity, then the active zone is heated by decreasing the flow rate of heat-transfer agent and at the same time the heat exchangers of all loops are maintained in the chilled state; heating of the active zone is stopped after the relative quantity of flow rate of heat-transfer agent equal to the relative quantity of reactor power input is attained. EFFECT: enhanced safety. 3 cl, 2 dwg
