FIELD: production of granular carbamide. SUBSTANCE: method involves spraying of carbamide melt in granulating tower; cooling of melt drops by providing contact with cooling agent to temperature below melt drop hardening temperature, with only liquid carbon dioxide being used as cooling agent; throttling of liquid carbon dioxide so that gas and solid particles are obtained; maintaining atmospheric pressure in tower. Carbon dioxide used as cooling agent is introduced in an amount sufficient for withdrawal of heat emitted during cooling and hardening of carbamide. Carbon dioxide discharged from tower is subjected to compression and fed for recycling. EFFECT: reduced discharge of ammonia and carbamide into environment and provision for changing of tower dimensions. 2 dwg, 1 tbl
