FIELD: coke industry. SUBSTANCE: nonvolatile ammonium salts are added into absorption water to process it, quantity of said salts is 100-300 g/l. Acid components are distilled, then steam of ammonia is distilled. Said steam is affected by alkali washing to remove residue of acid components. Thus treated steam is condensed to prepare concentrated ammonia water. By-products of coke industry which contain chloride, thiocyanate, sulfate and thiosulfate of ammonium are used as aforementioned nonvolatile ammonium salts. EFFECT: decreases expense of alkali during washing. 2 cl, 1 dwg, 2 tbl
