FIELD: cryogenics and space rocketry.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method that can be used for high-speed sealing of leaky microcracks in walls of tanks and pipelines filled with liquid hydrogen held at gage pressure in recoverable space vehicles includes filling of leaky microcracks with sealing compound. For the purpose use is made of solid admixtures soluble in liquid hydrogen, such as hardened inert gases whose concentration in liquid hydrogen is raised to their solubility limit. Concentration of solid soluble admixtures is increased to solubility limit in near-wall layer of liquid hydrogen held in cavity. Concentration of solid soluble admixtures in liquid hydrogen contained in cavity is raised to solubility limit by inflation of inert gases hardening in liquid hydrogen.

EFFECT: facilitated procedure, enhanced speed of sealing unconfined leaky microcracks without draining liquid hydrogen.
