FIELD: electronic engineering; microwave and extremely-high frequency transistors.
SUBSTANCE: proposed broadband transistor chip holder has elongated insulating substrate metal-plated on one side and made in the form of stripline coupling sondes incorporating rectangular waveguides and disposed over longitudinal axis; they are connected to input or output striplines which are connected, respectively, to field-effect transistor gate and drain; it also has stripline short-circuiting members connected to transistor sources. Novelty is that transistor is made in the form of chip and stripline short-circuiting members, in the form of reactive stubs, that gate, drain, and source are connected with respective striplines through newly introduced metal posts which are connected to chip contact pads by means of newly introduced wire jumpers and their height equals that of the latter.
EFFECT: enhanced frequency response of chip holder, its bandwidth, and maximal operating frequency; ability of normal operation in transmission lines built around rectangular waveguides.
