FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to high-temperature electrochemistry, particularly, to devices exploiting zirconium oxide-based electrolyte intended for regeneration of gas atmosphere in sealed spaces of manned spaceship life-support systems. Reagents to be recovered are fed in term to either device inlet or outlet. Note here that reagent feed direction is changed according to gas flow polarisation voltage at first element increase to 50-70 MV. Proposed regenerator consists of evaporator, heater and high-temperature electrolyser with zirconium oxide-based solid electrolyte with gas-diffusion electrodes. Note here that redundant device is arranged in decomposing reagent feed circuit and connected with evaporator, condenser and electrolyser to change gas flow direction in response to electric signal from inlet element. Note also that it is located in apparatus heat zone that rules out water vapour condensation.
EFFECT: longer life, improved operating performances.
