FIELD: radio engineering, communication.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to measuring geometrical features of free floating low-sized objects. The result is ensured by the fact that a geometrical feature of identification is a visualised object vertical axis the measured instantaneous values of which ensure determining a power spectrum of object response to wavy seawater surface disturbance to be saved; that is combined with measuring vertical axes of free seawater surface in the same water area, determining the power spectrum of the seawater disturbance to be saved; the above power spectra are related to determine a transfer interworking function of the hydrodynamic body and free surface system that is statistic image of the object; the transfer function is compared to any of the saved transfer functions; the object is indentified on the grounds of not exceeding pre-set Chebyshev deflection of the measured and saved transfer functions.
EFFECT: enabling identifying the free floating low-sized objects in the fixed point of the analysed marine area.
