SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement of statistic characteristics of the fluid hydrophysical fields. Proposed process proceeding from the measurement of instant magnitudes of the fluid hydrophysical field hydrologic characteristics. Pulse transfer is used as said hydrologic characteristic, its magnitude being measured with the help of hydrophysical transducers. The latter are located at fixed points of analysed space for sequential colouring at preset sampling rate and volume.

EFFECT: passive detection of submerged displacing object.
