METHOD OF TREATING VOLUME TUMORS OF LIVER Russian patent published in 1994 - IPC

FIELD: surgery. SUBSTANCE: after preliminary intraoperational measurement of volume of the tumor by means of ultrasound, the cryodestruction is performed at nitrogen boiling point (196 deg C). Then frozen volume of tumor is mechanically cut all over. The rest of frozen bed of tumor is exposed to laser evaporation by means of defocused beams of CO₂ laser with density of power 1000-1500 Wt/cm² until achieving healthy parenchyma and forming a scab. EFFECT: reduced traumatism; reduced possibility of intra- and post-operational complications.
