FIELD: purifying polyfluorinated alkanes. SUBSTANCE: 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane contains high toxic impurities of unsaturated haloid-containing compounds C2-C4, their quantities being 10-100000 ppm. Raw 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane is passed through higher fluoride of cobalt or silver (as oxidizer). The process takes place at 200-400 C, linear rate of raw materials passage is given in specification. Waste metal fluorides are regenerated at 200-400 C. EFFECT: improves efficiency of the method.
