FIELD: organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: the process is carried out in vertical reactor filled by cobalt trifluoride. Recycled hexafluoroethane (its quantity being at least 7 times more than ethylene quantity) and vat fraction after pentafluoroethane isolation are fed into this reactor. The process takes place at 150-300 C, contact time is 10000-10 s. Yield of pentafluoroethane is 53-61% (23-27 kg/h), yield of hexafluoroethane is 10-11% . EFFECT: improves efficiency of the method. 1 tbl, 1 dwg
